FAQs

For best treatment results:

Caffeine: try not to drink caffeine before your visit. It stays in your system and alters your pulse. Pulse diagnosis is an integral aspect of Asian Medicine and helps inform me to create effective diagnosis and treatment plan.

Tongue: Please do not brush or scrape your tongue before your appointment. The coating provides important diagnostic information. Also, please avoid anything that may stain your tongue prior to your visit.

Eat: Acupuncture treatments are calming to the nervous system and lower your blood pressure so you may feel light headed afterwards. If you eat a light meal or snack prior to treatment, your blood sugar stays level and you are less prone to this. If you do feel light headed, drinking some water alleviates it usually.

Other ways to enhance your treatments later in the day:

  • Drink plenty of water before and after
  • Avoid strenuous activities
  • No hot baths or hot tubs for 24 hours after
  • Avoid heavy meals and spicy food
  • Avoid alcohol, street drugs and caffeine
  • Eat nourishing organic food and schedule the rest of your day to be as serene as possible.

Safety Notes:

Occasionally you may get a small bruise after an acupuncture needle is removed. This is not cause for concern, it will go away in a few days.

All needles are sterile and disposed of safely after one use. Glass cups are sterilized between treatments.

Accepted forms of payment are cash, personal check, HSA, debit and credit cards. Credit cards will be charged an additional 3%.

Schedule & Cancellations: I make every effort to run on schedule and have minimal overlap with people in the reception area. Please arrive on time or, a few minutes early, to help the flow. If you cancel your appointment with less than 24 hour notice, or do not show for your appointment, you will be charged $100.00.

Scents: Many people have severe chemical sensitivity, so please do not wear any type of scents to this office. This includes essential oils, colognes and scented lotions. The nano-particles remain in the air and can create respiratory distress or migraine headaches in sensitive people.
